The awards are affectionately known as The Lizzies, in reference to the 'Lizards' nickname that has been adopted by the Australian IT media community.

The Lizzies aim to recognise excellence in technology media and journalism. Held in April each year, the gala dinner is attended by more than 300 guests including the cream of the Australian technology media.

Best Journalist for 2007 was Ben Woodhead who was recognised for his work at The Australian.

Best Title for 2007 was Good Game.
