MediaSmart focusses on pitching skills

By Staff Writers for Marcoms News
The upcoming MediaSmart seminar on December 10 will have an increased emphasis on practical pitching skills with half of the day's program devoted to attendees practice pitching to up to a dozen of the industry's most influential technology journalists.

"Our MediaSmart seminars have always rated through the roof in terms of participant satisfaction with four out of five rating the day as excellent. However that excellent rating has increased to almost 100 per cent in relation to the unique pitching workshop which has previously ended the day," said MediaConnect CEO Phil Sim.

"Journalists have also told us they get a lot out of these pitching sessions, so for our next MediaSmart event in December we're going to run three pitching workshops with up to four journalists in each - one focused on pitching to business journalists, another on pitching to consumer-oriented journalists and the final one focussing on pitching to freelancers."

The program will also include two keynote presentations by leading IT editors, a new media panel and a PR peer session, where attendees get to hear from three experienced tech PR pros.

"We've previously aimed the content for this workshop at new PR pros, but the revised format makes this seminar applicable to all PR pros working in the tech space."

"There is no opportunity like this, to receive honest and constructive feedback on how best to pitch and work with the industry's most influential IT journalists."
